Eurotrip 2024: Arrivederci, Italy 🇮🇹

Back Where We Started: Ravenna to Venice

After nearly a week hopping around the Mediterranean, we made our way back to where it all started—Ravenna, Italy. Our cruise had come full circle, and while part of me was clinging to the salt air and sunshine, I was also looking forward to one last mini adventure before heading home.

We caught a bus from the port back to Venice and checked into our final hotel of the trip. And let me just say—Venice knows how to leave an impression.

First Impressions of Venice

This floating city is a maze of narrow alleyways, arching bridges, and golden light that dances on the water. It’s basically a photographer’s playground.

We spent the evening wandering aimlessly, which is honestly the best way to explore Venice. Every twist and turn revealed something new: crumbling stone walls with ivy, hidden courtyards, tiny shops, and a truly overwhelming number of gelato spots (not complaining).

Golden Hour Goals

The next morning, we woke up at the crack of dawn—yes, on purpose—to catch the empty streets and soft morning glow. The early light spilling between buildings and bouncing off the canals? Chef’s kiss. Quiet, peaceful, and honestly kind of magical.

A Quiet Canal-Side Send-Off

Later, we tucked into a cozy lunch at a café near the water. As we sipped our espresso and people-watched, we reflected on the whirlwind that was Eurotrip 2024—so many cities, stories, and carb-loaded meals.

We were full of gratitude, good memories, and excitement to go back home… mostly to see our dogs, let’s be real.

That Sandwich That Deserved a Standing Ovation

We made our way to the iconic Rialto Bridge where I split off and, by complete accident, found the best bologna and cheese sandwich of my life (so far). Simple, fresh, and perfect. Just a little sandwich magic from a no-name spot that probably doesn’t even have an Instagram account.

Until Next Time, Europe

Venice was the perfect place to wrap it all up. Quiet canals, moody skies, and just enough time to soak in the stillness before flying back to real life.

Thanks for coming along on the ride. Until the next adventure—ciao!
